Abstract

Several studies have sought solutions to reduce the occurrence of interruptions in the hospital environment. However, a lot is unknown about the phenomenon and its causes, since scientific research deals with the consequences of interruptions with greater emphasis. Work interruptions are classified as a cause of severe stress among nursing professionals, increase the likelihood of forgetting initial intentions, intensify irritability and decrease job satisfaction. This study aims to understand the interruptions through the characteristics of the Organizational Culture of hospitals. Evidence-Based Literature Systematic Review (RBS) was used as a methodological procedure. The results show that it is possible to manage interruptions through the management of the cultural profile of the hospital organization since interruptions can have a positive or negative impact on the work of nursing professionals.
