This work analyzes the flow of information in a solid waste collection and transportation company, to provide improvements in the information management process, in the search for efficiency in meeting the demand for waste management services. This is an exploratory-descriptive case study, carried out based on a technical visit to a company located in the State of Pará, Brazil, where interviews were carried out with those responsible for the organization's sectors, using structured questionnaires and free questions. By investigating the sources and readers of information, channels and communication technologies, it was possible to map the company's information flow and analyze criteria based on four flowchart models. Furthermore, the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats for optimizing business processes were identified, using the Swot tool, proposing actions to eliminate or minimize the problems encountered. It is expected that this work will help solve problems based on optimizing the flow of information and inspire other studies regarding the efficiency in applying tools and flow models in different organizations.
