Despite the growing use of qualitative methods in Brazilian research, as well as in the areas of people management and labor relations, it is possible to notice some weaknesses and inconsistencies in the use of this methodology. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the Brazilian scientific production in the area of Administration, in the thematic field of People Management and Labor Relations. To carry out this investigation, bibliometrics were used to analyze the Brazilian scientific production in the last decade (between 2010 and 2020), in journals in the area of Administration with stratum A2 of the current Qualis, in the areas mentioned here. The following methodological criteria were established: (1) paradigmatic orientation; (2) place of theory; (3) type of research; (4) type of data used; (5) type of analysis performed and (6) quality criteria adopted by researchers. Based on the analysis of these criteria in the researched corpus, it was possible to see that despite some inaccuracies in people management and labor relations research, which use the qualitative methodology published in Brazil, thematic fields have been developing, and it is still necessary to expand the debates on methodological strategies appropriate to the research object, as well as broadening the themes, bringing relevant multidisciplinary contexts, which are already being widely researched in the area of administration, in international research. Thus, this study demonstrates the most recent panorama of research that has been published in Brazil in the areas of people management and labor relations, bringing important inferences for the evolution of the use of qualitative methodologies in the field.
